About

Words matter to me as much as pixels.

I am a designer and a writer from Cali, Colombia. I design interfaces and design systems, and I write poems, stories and essays.

Designer

I studied graphic design in my hometown, Cali, Colombia, but I learned the mysterious ways of the internet in Argentina, while studying and working on web design. I fell in love with technology and with the capacity to create front-end, user-centered experience platforms (websites, intranets or mobile apps) that make information and services easier to reach for real people. I have worked for agencies in Buenos Aires, Bogotá and Cali, and for companies around the globe, in Mexico, Chile, the US, the UK and other countries.

Today I am building Pance, an open source design system, and Kafka, the typography-first one this site is made with. I also help teams close the gaps in their own systems.

Writer

Writing has been my secret passion. It took several years to realize I could develop myself as a writer without compromising my work as a designer. Both disciplines strive for clear communication, so I have learned to walk through both languages, feeding each with what I learned from the other.

I have published a few poems and essays in online magazines and blogs.

How the garden works

Every piece carries a growth stage, from seedling to evergreen, so you know how finished it is. Pieces stay in the language they were written in; the interface can be read in English or Spanish.
